My little man... his sleep saga continues. He's been doing SO WELL since Clayton was on the day shift last month and was home when he'd go to bed at night. For the past 3 nights in a row he's been up several times a night again, insisting on being in our bed, and refusing to stay in his bed no matter how many times I put him back. I cut his nap short this afternoon in hopes that he'll be extra tired and sleep more soundly tonight. Yeah right! I need sleep!!! If he was 2 months I'd be understanding of it.. but 2 YEARS? Not so much.
Whew! Did it get super hot outside today or what?! It's a perfect day for cold watermelon.. good thing we happened to have one. :) I love this time of year because of all of the fresh produce. There's not another time of the year that you can get such great fruit! I love it! (and most veggies too!)
I noticed at WalMart the other day that they've got the school supplies lined up! I'm guessing the school supply lists will be posted at the front door soon.. I can't wait to take Madison and pick out her stuff for Kindergarten! I have no idea what she'll need.. but I'm still excited about getting it! And of course there's school clothes shopping.. that's the best! This year I'll learn from my mistake last year and go ahead and buy some fall clothes too! I didn't think it through that it would be cool off and on fairly quickly after she started school... this time I'm aware!
Can I tell you how excited I am for our first Women's Small Group Wednesday night?!! I just know it's going to be awesome!! Suzanne... get me a list of stuff to bring why don't ya! I'm willing and ready to serve others. ;)

Same here Suzanne. If I need to bring something just hollar at me. You will have to do it really loud so that I can hear you all the way to my house.
I hope Carter gets rest soon. I have never had that problem. Ashton always slept even as a baby. I bet our next one will be a holy terror.
oh yeah, i completely forgot i was supposed to be doing that!
no, the bad news is, he doesn't have to sleep soon. but for your sanity you have to give in to the fact that he just may not sleep soon. you can try the sleeping in your floor thing, but don't count on it. really, i don't mean it bad, it's like so many other things we've talked about, you had one kind of child first. and now you have another. no amount of persistence or training will make him be like her. your frustration is your perception of what your reality should be. remember, if he's under 4 or even 5 you're spitting into the wind. you have to keep doing it, but just know when you do it, it's directly into the oncoming wind. when the surprise is gone, amazingly so is the anger. hang in there! it will get better - i promise!!
Clayton and I just had this talk.. about what we should 'expect' from Carter at this age.. I guess I really do expect him to sleep because I know he's capable of it. If he would NEVER sleep through the night I'd feel better about him being up.. but silly him let me see him sleep well for a solid month.. the cat is out of the bag! ;)
Oh I wish I could say that my kids slept well at night-but it never fails,12:00 I hear Kendall talking and then last night specifically ,at 3 I heard something in Kylas room and it was Kendall. This in turn would make you think that she would sleep in-Nope,6:00 in the morning she is wide awake!Jaxen,I can hardly get him to sleep before 11:00,even during school and he gets up the earliest.Kyla is absolutely the bes one,she will go to sleep a couple of hours after laying down but then get up at the crack of dawn...I hope it gets better too!Good luck with him,try putting him a toddler bed beside your bed for awhile-that might help???
